Pedestrian Accidents

An elderly Brentwood woman was recently killed in a pedestrian accident. She was hit by a car at the intersection of Grant Street and O’Hara avenue on Wednesday. The Contra Costa County coroner’s office says that the 74-year-old woman was dead on arrival at Sutter Delta Medical Center.

We have covered many serious pedestrian accidents in our prior posts. Pedestrian crashes are a common occurrence in the Bay Area in part because this is one of the most walkable parts of the country. The amount of locals and tourists on the streets combined with distracted drivers makes some of our sidewalks highly dangerous.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that a 50-year-old man has died after sustaining fatal injuries in a Mission Street pedestrian accident. Authorities say that the man was cross Mission Street near the intersection of Valencia last Thursday when he was hit by a SamsTrans bus.

Last week we discussed a fatal Twin Peaks Vista Point car accident which left several pedestrians injured and one woman dead. Authorities caught the driver in that crash and have charged the 23-year-old San Francisco woman with drunk driving and vehicular manslaughter.

Four pedestrians and one vehicle occupant were injured in a dramatic pedestrian accident in Twin Peaks yesterday. The crash happened around 8:50 p.m. last night on Christmas Tree Point Road.
