A co-host of the popular HGTV show “Curb Appeal” was declared dead after being involved in a San Francisco motorcycle accident.

Fox News reports that 38-year-old Bill Beckwith was killed when his motorcycle was hit by a car in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood.

The host’s death may draw attention to the dangers that motorcyclists across the Bay Area face on the road. Motorcycle accident injuries are among the most severe types of traffic accident injuries seen in San Francisco hospitals. Motorcyclists typically suffer severe trauma, including head injuries, from similar crashes.

Bill Beckwith is a Maine native and one of the three co-hosts of the home renovation show “Curb Appeal.” Fox News reports that Beckwith owned a Bay Area construction company.

According to investigators, the 30-year-old driver who hit Beckwith stayed at the scene of the crash and is cooperating with the investigation.

“The HGTV family is deeply saddened by Bill’s tragic death, and we mourn his loss along with his many family and friends who will miss his creativity, adventurous spirit and general love of life,” producers said in a statement reported by CNN.
