Authorities recently arrested a Milpitas for his role in a fatal Hayward car accident. KGO-TV reports that the man was speeding along Paseo Padre Parkway when he hit a tree, killing his 31-year-old wife and 3-year-old son Authorities say that the accident happened between Chadbourne Drive and Dorne Place.
The man is being charged with vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and felony child endangerment.
Police estimate the man’s speed at around 65 mph and say that his vehicle was split after hitting a tree. The man and his toddler were ejected from the vehicle. Emergency crews were able to pull his wife from the car but she died on Wednesday.
The investigation into this car accident will likely take a few more weeks as authorities pour over toxicology tests and collision data. The man was transported to Santa Rita County Jail after he underwent major surgeries on Tuesday night.
Speeding may also be to blame for another car accident which happened later on Tuesday. Authorities say that a Range Rover crashed into a home in San Francisco’s Bayview. A woman appears to have been driving too fast down a hill and hit the garage of a home.
