Chris Dolan To Speak On Whistleblower Verdict And Trial Techniques

Attorney Chris Dolan will be speaking this week at the New Lawyers Division Conference hosted by the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association at Lake Tahoe. Chris will speak on the topic of trying an individual whistleblower action before a jury, sharing best practices and ways to counter defense arguments. Last Fall, Chris and co-counsel Anne Costin obtained a $20 million verdict in whistleblower and wrongful termination case of Williams v. Wyndham Vacation Ownership.

California Lawmakers Vote to Allow Expedited Jury Trials

The Expedited Jury Trials Act, praised by the plaintiff and defense bars alike, is expected to be signed into law later this month. In an expedited trial, if agreed to by both parties, each side would have three hours to present its case before an eight-member jury. Supporters say the new rules will allow plaintiffs to bring smaller cases that might not otherwise go to court.

The California state legislature has unanimously approved a bill designed to make jury trials faster and easier and to allow more plaintiffs with smaller claims to have their cases heard in court.
