The intersection at Fell and Masonic in the Panhandle has long been a source of concern, not only for the city of San Francisco, but also pedestrians, cyclists, and commuters. According to the SF Examiner, there were 17 injury collisions at the intersection between 2007 and 2009. As recently as December 20th of 2011 a man was injured after a bicycle accident.
In the hopes of making the notorious intersection safer for everyone, the city is looking to install a traffic camera so as to avoid illegal left turns from Fell St. onto Masonic Ave.
Also, tonight is SF Bicycle Coalition’s volunteer night. You can find out more about there here.
