Sunday, a man was injured and a woman was killed in a motorcycle accident on Interstate 205. The single-vehicle motorcycle crash occurred around 3:30 Sunday afternoon, when the rear tire exploded on the motorcycle, leading to the wreck.
News reports do not indicate what may have caused the tire to blow. However, the exploding tire is believed to have caused the 48-year-old driver to lose control of his bike. He was riding with a 27-year-old woman from San Jose as a passenger on the bike.
Both people were ejected from the motorcycle sometime during the freeway accident. The woman who was riding as a passenger suffered fatal injuries in the wreck.The driver, a man from San Jose, was transported to Sutter Tracy Community Hospital after the crash for treatment.
