Authorities say that an illegal street race ended in a car accident on Tuesday morning.
KTVU-TV reports that the accident happened shortly after 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday on the 3300 Block of Cropley Avenue.
Witnesses say that two cars driving at a high rate of speed when a third vehicle entered the roadway. One of the drag racers crashed into the vehicle and ten flew into a house.
The homeowners were inside the house at the time of the accident but were uninjured. They will however have to repair significant structural damage.
One of the occupants of the car suffered moderate injuries and was hospitalized. Prosecutors plan to press street racing charges against both drivers, who remained on the scene.
Speed is one of the primary contributing factors in many Bay Area car accidents. Earlier this month four teens were hospitalized after crashing off of Glendora Mountain Road in the Angeles National Forest. Authorities cited street racing as a contributing factor in that crash as well.
