People who are participating in illegal activities aren’t usually paying attention to what is going on around them with the intent of keeping those near them safe. A recent accident in San Francisco shows just how cold and heartless some people can be when they are doing something illegal and end up hurting someone.
A man in a stolen minivan is facing some serious charges for his part in some very serious accidents. The man hit a taxicab, which caused a series of injuries. Not only were the occupants of the cab injured, a bicycle rider and a pedestrian were also injured. After causing all that trouble, the man tried to leave on a Muni bus.
Sadly, the bicyclist who was injured suffered from life-threatening injuries. While the accident didn’t kill him, his coworkers say they are concerned about the man. A spokesperson for the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office says that the man who was driving the stolen minivan showed no regard for life when he left the scene.
As a result of this car accident, the man who was driving the stolen minivan is facing 10 felony counts. His bail for those charges has been set at $350,000.
Dealing with injuries from a horrific accident like this is difficult for any victim, but the impact of the accident doesn’t stop with only the victim. The impact moves on to affect the family members and friends of the victims. While the friends of victims don’t usually have a financial interest in the accident, family members of the victim and the victim might have spent money to overcome the effects of the accident. In that case, they might choose to try to alleviate some of the financial pressure by seeking compensation from the driver who caused the accident.
