Motorcycle Hit Rear Of SUV As It Made Left Turn
Gilroy, CA (April 17, 2017) – Motorcyclist Richard Martinez was killed in the late afternoon on Saturday, April 15th 2017, after colliding with another vehicle on Leavesley Road in Gilroy, California.
According to press reports, the crash was reported around 5:30 pm Saturday. A 2000 Ford Explorer driven by Gustavo Martinez of Gilroy, was traveling westbound on Leavesley Road attempting to make a left turn onto Holsclaw Road. Richard Martinez, driving a 2007 Harley-Davidson, was traveling eastbound on Leavesley Road when he stuck the right rear door of the Ford SUV. Rushed to the Regional Medical Center in San Jose,Richard Martinez was pronounced dead about an hour after arriving.
The driver of the Ford and his other two male passengers in their early 20’s were not seriously injured.
