A 44-year-old man was arrested for drunk driving after allegedly crashing his car into a Mission Street bus stop.
Authorities say that Virgilio Aquino Jr. crashed into the bus stop at Mission Street and Silver Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Friday night.
ABC News San Francisco reports that Aquino also hit a 42-year-old woman. She was rushed to San Francisco General Hospital in critical condition. Aquino was also taken to the hospital and was treated for serious personal injuries.
Police arrested Aquino on various charges including violating his probation, driving on a suspended license and DUI.
Another drunk driver was recently charged in connection with a fatal head-on crash in San Leandro. The San Francisco Chronicle reports that 19-year-old Jesus Antonio Godinez was intoxicated when he crossed into oncoming traffic the evening of March 22.
Godinez hit a car driven my 32-year-old Alejandro Ramirez-Juarez, of San Leandro. A passenger in Ramirez-Juarez’s car survived the crash.
