Despite knowing the dangers, drivers in San Francisco, and throughout California, may still get behind the wheel after drinking, drive while distracted or otherwise engage in dangerous behaviors while operating motor vehicles. All too often, these negligent drivers cause motor vehicle wrecks. These collisions commonly result in serious injuries and, in some cases, death, for the occupants of the vehicles involved.
Authorities with the California Highway Patrol are continuing to investigate what one officer described as a devastating scene following a recent car accident in Fresno. According to reports, one person was killed after being ejected from the vehicle due to the impact. The deceased was reportedly thrown into a tree. Five other people were also injured, one of who was reportedly in critical condition. All of them were taken to the hospital.
According to reports, the collision occurred when one of the vehicles blew threw a stop sign. The vehicle, which was traveling northbound, reportedly struck a westbound vehicle. At the time of the auto accident, news sources report that both vehicles were traveling at high speeds. While it was not disclosed if either motorist was speeding, authorities purportedly believe that the driver responsible for causing the wreck might have been intoxicated.
