Celebrate Bike Month in the Bay Area with Safety, Community, and Legal Resources
May is National Bike Month and here in the Bay Area, it’s more than just a celebration. It’s a movement. From neighborhood rides to community events, cyclists across the region are hitting the road in honor of safer, greener transportation.
Bike to Wherever Day takes place on Thursday, May 15, 2025, with over 100 Energizer Stations across the East Bay handing out goodie bags and bringing cyclists together. Whether you’re commuting, exercising, or riding just for fun—this is your time to shine.
At Dolan Law Firm, we don’t just support cyclists, we represent them. Our team has helped injured riders throughout California stand up for their rights and recover after serious crashes. Our Bicycle Accident Resource Page offers insight into how we fight for justice: https://dolanlawfirm.com/accidents/bicycle/
For those looking to ride smarter and safer, we’ve also created the Bay Area Bike & Pedestrian Legal Guide, a free PDF with critical California bike laws and legal tips: Download the Guide
Some key highlights from the guide:
- Cyclists must follow the same traffic laws as drivers (CVC 21200).
- Use the bike lane when safe, but you’re allowed to leave it to avoid hazards or make turns (CVC 21208).
- Helmets are mandatory for riders under 18 (CVC 21212).
- At night, your bike must have front/rear lights and reflectors (CVC 21201(d)).
If you’ve been injured in a bicycle crash or need legal help after an accident, Dolan Law Firm is here to support you. This month, let’s ride informed and ride empowered.
Ride safe and enjoy Bike Month!
